Animated by the amazing Isobel Knowles*, and with characters rendered by yours truly. This was a commission for the Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery, at Melbourne Museum. I’ve since begun to animate my own work, but this was at a point in my journey when I could only sit back and watch, as Isobel injected life and emotion into the large number of characters (except for Tiddalik himself), that I illustrated (complete with every body part drawn separately and multiple times over, as seen here.
The narration was provided by Australia’s premiere gum leaf player – my Uncle Herb Patten.
*It’s not possible to write that name without placing ‘amazing’ before it (scientific fact).
