These were produced for the Echuca Football & Netball Club, to help celebrate the annual Archie Walker memorial Indigenous round in July 2023. It’s the third year running that I’ve created a design for the club. This year’s design tells the story of when many thousands of years ago Yorta Yorta people witnessed a massive flood, caused by an earthquake and the shifting of the Cadell fault. This earthquake resulted in the Yorta Yorta people surviving by riding their canoes over the tops of a submerged forest canopy. Today the Murray river flows along a different path because of that significant event in Yorta Yorta and geological history.
